Joshua Lampkins: Real Music with a Touch of Different Genres

November 21, 20237 min read

When it comes to crafting music, few artists can compare with Joshua Lampkins. From his early years, Joshua has had a passion for music, using it as a way to express himself and calm his emotions. Growing up in a musically and artistically inclined family, Joshua was inspired by the likes of Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, and Michael Jackson to pursue a career in the music industry.

Joshua is no ordinary artist. He began his musical journey by teaching himself how to sing, write, and play, with the help of his first music teacher who taught him how to read music and understand rhythm. Joshua was able to master the saxophone as his first instrument, and he has since been able to create a unique sound to his music that is a mix of different genres.

His creative process is an interesting one. Joshua writes when the inspiration hits him, even if it means getting over blocks of writer's block. He enjoys creating for himself, but sometimes he'll switch up the vibe and listen to songs that his fans like. His main source of inspiration is to push himself in life and never give up or give in.

Joshua notes Chris Brown as the musician he admires the most, and his message to his fans is to never give up or give in, as life is what you make it and you never know the prize. His fans come from a wide range of ages and backgrounds, and Joshua takes the time to energize them when performing by emphasizing and hitting the best parts of his songs with extra strength.

When asked what skills are most important in the music industry, Joshua believes having a keen ear to listen and understand when to be creative or keep it simple is essential. He also believes it's important to learn, study, and understand old music and music history.

When asked what he enjoys most about being an artist, Joshua said he loves making the schemes for his music and seeing it all come together. His plans for the coming months include school for audio production and writing more music.
